What will you learn in an NRA basic course?
Using the NRA training method of Total Participant Involvement, basic courses provide hands on learning opportunities in the following areas:
- safe firearm handling
- firearm parts and operation
- ammunition and its function
- shooting fundamentals and an opportunity to develop them on the range
- how to select, clean and store a firearm
- review of various activities available to help participants develop and improve their shooting skills
Attractive certificates are awarded to participants who successfully complete each basic course.
The NRA Basic Pistol course is an excellent course for a beginner to complete because it covers a wider range of firearms issues that are not specific to any make or model of pistol. Whether your thinking of purchasing a new handgun or you have recently purchase one this course can help boost your confidence in your ability to properly select, clean and store a firearm as well as improve your ability to shoot your selected gun. Ear and eye protection must be worn at all times while shooting
If you do not have your own, it will be provided for a nominal fee.
Cost: $60.00 ($30 deposit required at least one week prior to class to reserve your seat)
What to Bring:
1. Safe & Reliable handgun.2. 100 rounds of factory ammunition. (no reloads)
3. Revolvers and semi automatics are available to rent.
Prices vary depending on ammunition usage and caliber choices, but
generally run around $30
